Ronan is passionate about music from a young age. As member of both the Sligo Academy of Music Junior and Sinfonietta Orchestras he had the honour to perform with groups such as Dervish, West Ocean String Quartet, Zoe Conway & John McIntyre and Soprano and Eurovision Winner, Eimear Quinn to name a few! Ronan travelled to Prague with the Sinfonietta Orchestra to perform at the Young Bohemians Festival.


Ronan was selected to study piano and flute at the Royal Irish Academy of Music where he studied piano with Prof. Anthony Byrne and flute with Prof. William Dowdall and attended masterclasses with flautist Sir James Galway and pianist John O’Connor. He was a member of the Royal Irish Academy of Music Wind Ensemble.


Ronan won numerous awards for piano and sight-reading competitions in both Dublin Feis Ceoil and Sligo Feis Ceoil. Ronan has completed his Senior Certificate Exam with the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Grade 8 with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and has been awarded numerous High Achiever Awards for outstanding exam results by the Royal Irish Academy of Music, including Senior Certificate in Piano.


Ronan had the privilege to perform for President Michael D. Higgins and former President Mary McAleese in presidential concerts. He has also performed at the Sligo County Councils Mayors Balls as well as being awarded Civic Receptions on numerous occasions for outstanding music successes. 


Ronan is an accomplished traditional musician as well as classical. He won 1st place in the All-Ireland Fleadh Ceoil in Ennis with the Fred Finn Groupai Ceoil under the directorship of Michael Rooney. Ronan has numerous other All-Ireland titles including 2nd place for solo Piano Accordion and 3rd place with the Fred Finn Ceili Band and numerous Connaught titles for both piano and piano accordion.


An accomplished vocalist,  Ronan won numerous awards including the vocal duet at Dublin Feis Ceoil. He was invited to perform at the ESB Feis Ceoil Young Platform Series at the National Concert Hall. Ronan is also a member and sub-organist of the Sligo Cathedral Choir under the directorship of Charles O’Connor and featured on the RTÉ Easter Mass in 2017.
