Eamonn Ryan – Guitar
Eamonn began playing guitar at the young age of 8 studying at the Royal College of Music Chatham Row, Dublin 2.
He went onto study under the great Irish Jazz guitarist Michael Nielsen and eventually Classical Guitar at the Royal Irish Academy of music under Marian Hyland.
Eamonn studied with Marian for 6 years and completed all the grades in Classical Guitar performance.
To further his studies he enrolled in the Musician’s Institute (G.I.T.) London and achieved a Performance Diploma in Contemporary Music. While studying at the Institute, Eamonn attended Master-classes with John Petrucci, Vinnie Moore, Shaun Baxter, Martin Goulding, Max Milligan, Lee Hodgson, Andy Saphire and Duck Baker.
Eamonn continued to learn from the best guitarists in electric guitar performance around the globe. He studied with Alex Skolnick {from the Alex Skolnick trio, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, & lead guitarist with the band Testament} in New York and Doug Doppler in San Francisco (both students of world renowned guitarist Joe Satriani.)
Eamonn teaches classical and popular guitar at the Sligo Academy of Music and has recently begun preparing students for the RIAM theory exams. Eamonn is also a keen artist. He writes poetry, short stories and is currently nearing completion of his first novel.
